The 2017 Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair took place during the month of May in Chengdu, and was organized by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, the Lingquanyi District People’s Government, the Chengdu Eco Tech Development Zone Administrative Committee and TusHoldings.

The Fair focused on global innovation, while connecting strongly to the local Chengdu and Longquanyi industries who are looking to innovate and invest in their technologies to enable an economic take-off. As such, Compass Ventures, a leading holding group specializing in managing and leading key technology projects around the world was invited to participate in the forum and share a unique perspective on its global activity.

The Vice Mayor of Chengdu made a welcoming speech highlighting the importance of investing in technology and innovation: “Grasping innovation is to grasp development, seeking innovation is to seek the future. In recent years, the Chengdu municipal government is focusing on the innovation in the Chengdu Science and the creation of the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair. As a result, last year, Chengdu’s investment in R&D increased by 12.7% and we are looking to keep on investing while finding win-win partners to build a strong ground and succeed with together.”

 

 

Mr. Moshe Kamar, CEO of Compass Ventures Group, delivered a keynote speech on the “China-Israel Innovative Collaborative Development” as part of the “Inspiring the world, creating the future” event. In his speech Mr. Kamar shared some key highlights about Israel, mentioning the country has the largest number of entrepreneurs per capita, and is ranked No.1 in the world in Research and Development per capita. Mr. Kamar went on to talk about the large market advantages and opportunities a country like China has to offer, and its main interest in investing in innovative technologies. Mr. Kamar explained: “Israel and China have many opportunities for collaborative innovation, across a large range of industries. One of them is the automotive industry in the Longquanyi District.” Mr. Kamar explained that Compass Ventures and the Longquanyi District are looking to collaborate in the automotive industry as well as in other areas and find opportunities to boost the successful landing of Israeli innovation in China. Mr. Kamar added that Compass is exploring additional projects in China and its vision is to make the world’s future a safer, green and better place to live in.

 

Additional key participants at the fair included Dr. Ronen Dagon, Chairman of Compass Ventures, Mr. Yair Albin, Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu, Mr. Liu Liedong, Vice Mayor of Chengdu, Mr. Tian Yunhui, Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department Deputy Director, Mr. Hou Yun Chun, Member of the national committee of CPPCC and Researcher at the development research center of State Council, Mr. Wang Jiwu, Chairman of TusHoldings.
