Israel, December 2019 –China Electronics Technology Cooperation delegation (CETC), hosted by Compass Ventures Group visited the Weizmann Institute on December 18, 2019. The CETC delegation led by CETC Chairman Mr. Xiong Qunli and other executives from CETC. CETC is a state-owned Chinese conglomerate with over 200,000 employees worldwide. The group focuses on technologies within the fields of communication equipment, computers, electronic equipment, research services, investments, asset management and much more.
The delegation led by the Compass Group team was warmly welcomed by the President of the Weizmann Institute, Prof. Alon Chen, who presented the uniqueness of the Weizmann Institute. The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary basic research institutions in the natural and exact sciences.
Following the initial meeting, the delegation met with the First Vice President, Prof. Irit Sagi, who is in charge of Technology implementation and cooperation of the Weizman Institute to discuss joint collaborations with a focus on technology and research between CETC and the Weizmann Institute. The main fields of interest were presented by the Chairman of CETC, Mr. Xiong Qunli, in order to focus efforts on the desired collaborations. It was agreed to establish a steering committee to discuss the potential collaborations and opportunities between CETC, Weizmann, and Compass.
