Yonel Cohen
Former Chairman of Migdal Insurance and Investment Group
Mr. Yonel Cohen is one of the key players in Israel’s financial industry. Mr Cohen is Chairman on the Board of the Biran family holding company which is the controlling shareholder of Alon Group. Mr. Cohen also holds a Director position in Alon Israel, Alon Blue Square (a public company), Alon USA Energy (a US public company), Alon Natural Gas Exploration (public company) and Delek Energy USA.
Until 2017 Mr. Cohen was a shareholder & Chairman on the Board of Golden House Ltd. (a public company engaged in secured living facilities in Israel and in the UK).
In addition, Mr. Cohen is a shareholder in Ayalon Holding Ltd. (a public company) and Chairman on the Board of Ayalon Insurance Company Ltd. engaged in the insurance businesses.
Previously, Mr. Cohen was the Chairman on the Board of Migdal Group, Israel’s leading insurance and finance group in Israel for over 80 years. In 2008 Mr. Cohen was appointed to be the CEO of the company. Previously, Mr. Cohen served as the CEO of “Mivtach-Simon” – The largest and leading company in Israel for pension plans management, acquired by Migdal in 2002.
Mr. Cohen began his professional career in the life insurance company “Sahar” and later became partner of “Mivtach Shamir” insurance agency. Mr. Cohen led the merger between “Mivtach Shamir” and “Simon Wiesel” also an insurance agency.
Mr. Cohen holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Tel-Aviv, Israel.
